Costa Blanca Holidays

Spain is one of the most popular holiday destinations for British and most other European tourists and has long been a favourite of the tourists looking for a lazy holiday lounging on the beach in the sun.  This kind of holiday is probably the kind you think of when you’ve been working all year and you’ve been saving up and waiting for the summer months so you can jet away and enjoy some decent weather.

There are many popular resorts in Spain but one of the most popular with tourists has to be Costa Blanca, covering a huge stretch of the Mediterranean coastline around Alicante and so enjoys amazing weather especially during the peak summer months.  The resorts are evenly spread around the region but can differ in who visits them, there are many popular resorts like Denia and Javea but there are also quieter resorts that the Spanish tourists frequent like Altea and Moraira.

The most popular town for tourism has to be Benidorm; high rise hotels are dotted along all the streets surrounding the many restaurants and nightclubs.  Many of the touristy areas of Benidorm come alive only during the summer months when foreign tourists flock to the area.

As such there is plenty for tourists to see and do with a water park not too far from the main resort and with a theme park, Terra Mitica; nearby in Alicante there are plenty of day trips you can take should you grow tired of lazing on the beach.

The food in the Costa Blanca has been heavily influenced by the tourist trade demands and so for those who fancy a taste of back home there’s plenty of English food including popular English breakfast cafes.  Aside form that there are plenty of varied restaurants with food styles ranging from Spanish and Italian to American Steakhouses.

There is plenty of choice over where to eat and afterwards there is an equally wide range of nightlife whether you’re looking for a quiet seafront bar to sip sangria or whether you are after a lively nightclub or bar.  The majority of bars and nightclubs tend to be bunched together so there is no worry about having to venture far.  Taxi services are normally the best way to get home after your night out if you’re a long distance from your hotel, asking a member of staff at the bar or door staff about which firms are the safest and best to go with.

During the day there are obviously all the activities of the typical beach holiday with water sports and boat hire being favourites with tourists.  Benidorm is home to three first class beaches bearing the Blue flag and so you can be assured you’ll be safe bathing in the sea.  Sticking with the sea theme there are often boat tours of the coastline or even sea life tours where many tours will use the glass bottom boats so you can get a good view of deep sea creatures.

The area of Costa Blanca is near to the airport in Alicante so getting flights to Alicante is no trouble with the majority of resorts being a short coach ride form the airport.
